The Dog’s Bollocks

Truth is like a dog’s bollocks – pretty obvious if you care to look.

The Rodent rats on the Rats of Tobruk Association

The 7.30 Report tonight had a story on the Rats of Tobruk Association selling their meeting hall in Melbourne. The ROTA will be donating the sale proceeds to children’s hospital wards which will bear its name. Why the hell doesn’t Howard put his money where his mouth is and purchase the building and develop it as a museum, instead of wasting public money sending out an Anzac Day flier to everyone on the electoral roll? But then again, garnering votes to save his sorry arse is surely more important than preserving an important part of Australian military history and heritage that he professes to hold so dear.

My father’s cousin was captured in Tobruk and spent the remaining war years in a Prisoner of War camp. I’m sure he would have appreciated preserving the RATO headquarters more than a glossy flier. The Rodent rats on the Rats of Tobruk.
