The Dog’s Bollocks

Truth is like a dog’s bollocks – pretty obvious if you care to look.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste

Professor Peter Doherty asks in The University of Melbourne Voice “What sense does it make to pour federal money selectively into minority, private (and often exclusionary) primary and secondary schools while starving the majority public sector?” The short answer? None.

The Howard government embraced Thatcher’s ‘greed is good‘ free market theology which played to the heart of the human tendency to regard our relative wealth and privilege in comparison to those less well off. After all, one is ultimately able to feel rich and privileged if it’s obvious that so many others are poor and unprivileged.

What is the point of driving a BMW if everyone has one?

You’ve cut straight to the chase slim, its so obvious but apparently only to maybe 10-15% of us in this society but painfully so to a much larger proportion of the world’s population currently finding it difficult to get enough to eat.

The older I get and the more outrageousness unfolds the less inclined I am to think it will ever become more tolerable. What a shambolic nightmare. What a bunch of evil turds humans by and large are, all for the sake of a smart car, a good school and an uneasy sense that such things might help make one appear ‘better off’.

Its greed but its also fear and given that people believe soley in their purchasing power, its no wonder they’re terrified.
